Our global Fortune 500 logistics client is present in over 220 countries and territories across the globe, making it one of the most international companies in the world. McKinney Consulting was given the assignment of searching for a Korean National to fill the Chief Financial Officer role for their Korean Operations. The candidate should be bilingual in Korean and English, knowledge of USA GAAP and Korean accounting principles. He or she must be CPA certified and have earned an MBA from a notable university inside or outside of Korea. But the real challenge was that the successful candidate must also have demonstrated leadership skills within a multinational organization and the potential to take over the Branch President role for the Korean operations within 2 to 3 years.
Our client with a global workforce exceeding 285,000 employees, provide solutions for an almost infinite number of logistics needs. They were expanding their business in Korea with the plans of making it their North East Asia hub. For various reasons they planned to localize the Branch President Korea role. They wanted to identify a Korean who had strong financial experience that could manage the financials of the company and grow into the Branch president role in 2 to 3 years.
A strong partnership was created. We worked closely with the existing Branch President in Korea to identify the necessary skills and experience this position would demand from the financial professional who accepted this challenge.
