Steve McKinney Speaks at the Global Career Forum

(Seoul, Korea) InterChamber, an alliance of 17 foreign chambers of commerce in Korea and the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), held a Global Career Forum in early February with the purpose of fostering young talent and providing guidance to the 600 attending students on how to succeed at foreign MNCs.

Steve McKinney was one of the key panelists of CEOs and HR specialists of foreign companies, who discussed trends and prospects for building a successful global career with multinational companies in Korea or abroad, as well as advice on the required skills, background, training and opportunities to succeed. He spoke about the importance of a globally oriented education system, the entrepreneurship required of tomorrow’s professionals, the requirement for global communication abilities, how the differences in cultural mindsets can be understood, and how career coaching can help students prepare themselves most effectively for entering an international organization.

After an introduction by Philippe Lee (Chairman of the FKCCI) and Simon Bureau (Chairman of the CCCK), Chairman Kyung-Shik Sohn (KCCI) briefly welcomed the participants before Stephen Frawley (Sr. VP of Global HR at SK Telecom) began the panel discussion which also included presentations by David Thomas (Executive VP of HR at SC Fist Bank), Nobuya Takasugi (Sr. Legal Advisor at Kim & Chang) and panel chair Joe Dae.
